Understand Zones 1 and 2
Central Lyon travel commonly uses the zones 1–2 product. TCL does not sell a one-zone ticket, and the chosen product must cover all crossed zones. A day trip or outer accommodation can change the requirement; use the official journey planner for the actual origin and destination.
2026 Contactless Fare Facts
TCL currently lists €2.10 for one central zones 1–2 contactless journey, with transfers for one hour, and a €6.90 daily cap after more than three trips. One bank card or device represents one passenger. Present it at every connection so the journey remains valid.
Funicular and River Exceptions
A normal ticket containing zone 1 covers the Fourvière funicular. TCL also sells a €3.60 same-day funicular return. Navigône has a separate €3 one-way fare unless covered by a qualifying season ticket; it is not an ordinary free transfer from a visitor's metro ride.
Airport Is a Separate Decision
Rhônexpress uses separate tickets and is not covered by a standard TCL journey. Combined airport City Card products are separate purchases. Do not use a central-network map price as the airport fare. Check live works because replacement buses can alter the normal interchange.
