LOD (SPaP-LOD) — The Main Local Operator
LOD sails from the Passenger Port Building at Fajnorovo nábrežie 2 on the Old Town riverfront. Its ticket office is also there. Board 15 minutes before departure, and check the pontoon number on LOD's website. Seats are not reserved. Two conditions apply to every scheduled LOD cruise: each sailing needs a minimum of 30 passengers, and low water on the Danube can restrict or cancel sailings. LOD was showing a low-water warning for the Devín route on 15 October 2026.
- Bratislava–Devín–Bratislava: LOD's flagship trip. It takes 90 minutes upstream and 30 minutes back, with about 2 hours at Devín Castle. An adult return costs €25, or €23 one way out and €20 one way back. Children aged 2–12 pay €19 return. Students (ISIC), seniors 60+ and ZŤP holders pay €22.50. - Bratislava roundtrip (city loop): A 45-minute loop past Bratislava Castle, Most SNP and the riverfront. Adults pay from €16, children aged 2–12 from €12, and students, seniors and ZŤP holders from €14.40. Autumn 2026 departures: Wednesday–Friday at 14:30 and Saturday–Sunday at 10:30 and 14:30, until 31 October. In November it runs Saturday–Sunday at 14:30. Details: LOD Bratislava roundtrip.
- Bubbles / Prosecco evening loop: LOD's 45-minute "Sightseeing Cruise with Unlimited Prosecco" costs from €28. Alcohol is served only to people over 18. Its daily 18:00 summer run ended on 18 September. Until 31 October, the Friday and Saturday 18:00 city loops still offer Bubbles tickets from €28 (LOD).
- Christmas Panorama Cruise: A 45-minute loop on a heated boat, on 4–6, 11–13 and 18–20 December 2026 at 17:00. LOD's listing shows €15, while the cruise page says adult tickets are "from €16" (LOD).
- Longer trips: LOD also lists Bratislava–Hainburg (€29 return; the 2026 sailings ran between May and September), Bratislava–Čunovo (from €39) and a Gabčíkovo dam roundtrip (from €59, advance booking needed). Dates are on the LOD cruise list.
- To Vienna: LOD's "Bratislava–Vienna–Bratislava" listing is the Twin City Liner service described below, not a separate slow boat. LOD takes advance reservations for it at travel@lod.sk, with payment by bank transfer.
LOD booking and cancellation: Book online through lod.sk or at the Fajnorovo nábrežie 2 office. Twin City Liner — Bratislava to Vienna by Fast Catamaran
The Twin City Liner is a high-speed catamaran between the Old Towns of Bratislava and Vienna. It takes 75 minutes downstream from Vienna to Bratislava and 90 minutes upstream from Bratislava to Vienna. All figures below come from the official 2026 timetable (PDF).
- Fares (per person, one way): Economy from €34, or €39 on the timetable grid for weekends and Austrian public holidays. Economy Plus costs from €38, Economy View from €40, First Class from €44 and the Captain's Lounge €56. Every ticket also carries a €3 fuel surcharge (Twin City Liner).
- Open-deck seats: €36, sold only from 1 hour before departure, in good weather.
- Red Tickets: A limited number of cheap tickets. The 2026 timetable says €25 per journey, while Twin City Liner's FAQ page says €28. Check the price in the ticket shop when you book.
- Children and discounts: Children aged 2–11 pay half price, and under-2s travel free on an adult's lap. On "Super Tuesday", seniors 60+ and students get 50% off. Disability pass holders and one companion get 50% off all season. During the 2026 family weeks, two children up to 17 travel free with an adult; the last family week is 26 October – 2 November. Discounts can't be combined and don't apply to the Captain's Lounge, Red Tickets or open-deck seats.
- Timetable to 2 November 2026: Boats leave Bratislava at 10:30, 14:30 and 18:30, and leave Vienna at 08:30, 12:30 and 16:30. The service runs up to three times a day each way, but not every departure runs every day. Check the day-by-day timetable before you plan a return trip.

- Boarding point: In Bratislava, the boat uses the Twin City Gate pontoon, HUMA 6, Rázusovo nábrežie, opposite Hotel Devín. In Vienna it uses Schiffstation Wien City at Schwedenplatz. Boarding starts 30 minutes before departure.
- Extras: Hand luggage up to 9 kg is included. Bicycles cost €5 and must be booked in advance (12 spaces), and dogs cost €5. Snacks and drinks are sold on board.

Blue Danube — Charters and Group Cruises
Blue Danube runs larger ships, the Žilina, Prešov, Martin and Harmónia, with capacities of 120–400 people. Its website lists routes to Devín, Hainburg, Čunovo and Gabčíkovo, a panoramic cruise under the bridges, a "Bubbles" loop with sparkling wine included, and themed dinner and brunch cruises. In summer, book the Devín cruise and the Twin City Liner in advance, especially for weekends. Because each LOD sailing needs 30 passengers and low water can cancel it, check the operator's page on the morning of your trip, particularly in autumn. Arrive at least 15 minutes early for LOD and 30 minutes early for the Twin City Liner.

Getting to the Departure Point
Both departure points are on the Old Town riverfront between Most SNP and the Slovak National Museum. LOD cruises leave from the Passenger Port Building, Fajnorovo nábrežie 2, 811 02 Bratislava. The Twin City Liner leaves from its own Twin City Gate pontoon (HUMA 6) on Rázusovo nábrežie, opposite Hotel Devín. Both are within walking distance of the Old Town. Parking on the embankment is limited, so walking or public transport is the easier option on summer weekends.
Deep Dive: The Devín Castle River Cruise
LOD's Bratislava–Devín round trip is the most popular half-day cruise. The boat heads upriver from Fajnorovo nábrežie, under the city's bridges and past wooded slopes, to the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers below Devín Castle.
The return boat runs on a fixed timetable about 2 hours after you arrive. That is enough for the castle ruins and the views over two rivers and two countries, Slovakia and Austria. From 19 September to 31 October, the 09:00 sailing reaches Devín at 10:30 and leaves at 12:30. On weekends, the 14:00 sailing reaches Devín at 15:30 and leaves at 17:30. In November only the weekend 09:00 sailing runs. Castle entry is separate: €8 for adults until 31 October and €6 from 1 November (Bratislava City Museum). The castle is closed on Mondays.

Total time: the morning sailing runs from 09:00 to about 13:00 in autumn. The return trip pairs well with the best Bratislava views spots, because the deck gives you one of the best riverside views of the skyline.
